I guess I am old school I do them at 3k. If you run synthetic you can go more but on dyno I stick with 3k. It is inexpensive insurance for your engine. Even synthetic 7500 too much imo

Everyone has their opinion but I still like to have them done every 3,500-4,000 miles.

When I helped in a diesel shop (many many years ago) we'd do two oil filter changes for every oil change, but that was on big rigs that used gallons of oil.

I've had personal vehicles easily go 250,000 miles and I'm convinced it was because the oil and filter were changed regularly (3,500-4,000 miles).

What year is your JK?

Read your owners manual and compare what it says about oil change schedules.
Also, notice the time interval if you don't make it to the mileage interval.

Other than that, do your own changes in between theirs. At least you will be getting 1/2 of them for free.

Got the same deal free oil changes but they said every 3,000 miles. My wifes traverse bought brand new, we were told 5-7500 miles and the oil life monitor said 10,000 but checked it at 3,000 it was a quart low, so now 3,000 on both. Also check it with every fillup takes 30 seconds.

I've grown up with 3-4000 oil changes. I just got my 2011 JK and got free oil changes also but the dealer told me to have it in every 3000 for them. They even put a oil change reminder sticker on my window for the 1st one at 3000.

newer engine run cleaner and don't need every 3000 - especially if you run synthetic. The move is towards a new synthetic (forget the differences) that will be able to go 10000 between changes.

i check my oil regularly because they still haven't figured out how to stop them from burning it.

since they are free, i would take it to them every single time that change oil light comes on. how can they justify not changing it when the computer is telling you it needs to be done. mine comes on around 3000 miles like clockwork. i run synthetic and wait about until around 4000 miles to actually change and i check the dipstick at fill-ups in the meantime. i've seen others on here have their oil light come on at higher mileage intervals, but never 7500 that i can remember. also, i believe the owner's manual states no more than 6 months or 6000 miles.
