Paint for your diff covers?
I was just wondering what might be the best type or brand of paint to use on my stock diff covers. Any ideas?
Thanks. |
I am actually priming and painting mine with a gloss black paint right now. The guy at the auto store said no need to use high temp paint. Diffs get hot but not hot enough for engine enamel.
I also got the Riddlers! |
I love Rustolium Black Hammered finish. The uneven surface hides carnage when you have to touch up the scars.

Krylon or Rustolium works just fine........no special paint needed for them

Thanks

Here's my work for the evening...
Attachment 29166 Attachment 29167 I painted the bolt heads and washers as well. They'll probably get all scratched with the install, but should touch up easily enough. Hey, you have to start with it looking nice! |

I just used Red Krylon. Sanded them a little and wiped them down, masked everything off and let it rip with two good coats. |
I'm going to clean mine well and use some self etching primer. Then do some playing with colors. But I think I'll go with engine paint and clear it.
