I have a 2dr and a 4dr. My son drives the 2dr, I drive the 4dr, what does that tell you? A 4dr with 37's is the way to go. Plenty of room, comfortable and very capable. The lighter 2dr does appear to have more ball though, but thats what they make gears for! Don't get me wrong, the 2dr is bitchen, but I would never trade it for the 4dr anywhere!

The pros are the size, the cons are the size. I think that the 4 door rides a little smoother, but I haven't driven the JK 2 door much. They are basically the same vehicle, 'cept that the 4 door is 20" longer and has two more doors.

The biggest plus about the 4 door in my opinion is the 3X greater space behind the rear seats. With the seats up, you have about as much room in the 4dr as you have in the 2dr with the seat tumbled. The rear seats also fold semiflat instead of needing to be removed. Interior size is the biggest plus.

As my life is now, I could not manage a 2dr, but if I was a single guy I wouldn't think about the 4 door.

There's some good points listed, maybe I should also state that if I go with the 4Dr I'd definitely want to run 37's except I'm fearful of premature failure of ball joints & tie-rods etc. due to their shear size comparative to the stock 31.5". Can anyone speak to this. Years ago I also had a 2001 S10 Highrider and was constantly replacing ball joints. Also how bad is the performance of the 4:10 gears with 37's in a 6spd?

I'll probably be having a little one on the way in the coming years, and I also mountain bike, and own a couple of Seadoo's so the storage space would be a plus My dog is my best friend and is always along shotgun or in the back.

I guess performance is the real issue.

Rubichronic I live in Niagara Falls.

IMHO a 2 Door looks more like a "real Jeep" and it does a lot better on the trails in my area (really tight, 4 doors and xj's get scratched up). My kids are nearly grown and have their own vehicles, so I do not need the room. I took the back seat out of mine in 2008 and it has not been back in.

If you need extra space, the 4DR feels a lot like the 2DR, just longer, with more cargo space.

Either way, it is a Jeep and it is awesome.

I have a couple of seadoos as well hogging up half the garage, so I would also add that the shorter 2 door is a bonus for packing into the rest of the garage with ease.

Went from a 2dr Sahara to a 4dr Rubicon, no regrets. Love the extra space.

If it's your only vehicle, 4 doors come in handy. If you have multiple vehicles, 2 door.

Wayoflife aka WOL aka the god father gave me 4dr envy. Damn his rig is sick! I would like one but mine has so much time/labor into it and of course the $ I would loose. If I had to do it over...probably would go with a 4dr Rubi. They are very capable when built.

I love my 2010 4 door Rubi! The only advice I have for you is get a new transmission skid plate if you get a 2011. They replaced the good transmission skid plate that came on the 2007-2010's. The 2011's have a stupid bar instead of a real transmission skid plate.
