Default Reduce road noise???

Has anyone done anything to quiet down the interior of their JK?

I am trying to figure out how to cut back on the road noise. Any ideas? Did putting a liner on the hard top help? The BFG MT's on concrete roads @ 80 mph gets to you after a while

Well, you could line-x the tub and then put the carpet back in. You could get the vehicle undercoated in something thicker than what they put on at the dealer. I had the local Ziebart place put sound proofer in the doors...just like the undercoating just a little thicker. This added some weight to the doors, but in a good way. There is a company that shall not be named that makes a liner for the hard top that acts as an insulator but also will deaden the noise. I am thinking a poncho liner would do the same thing. Ummm, you could get some of the expensive sound dampner stuff from Bestbuy ( I can't think of the name Dynamat, I think) and put that on your floor boards under your carpet. That would probably give you the best results. Do a google search for dynamat or sound deadner and you should come up with some cheaper alternatives. A layer of rattle can undercoating on the underside of your hood will help a little if you don't have the cloth insulation. Those will get you started at least.

two sets of tires help for sure if ya can afford an extra set of road tires...I plan on having a local shop line my hard top with some felt or something to deaden the wind noise, you can do the same to a soft top...and I want to line-x, or whatever the tub to help with noise.

Linning the hood is a great idea...never thought of it before
