Took my JK in for 15,000 mile service....$400 for the 'basic' service, and >$600 for the 'Supreme.'
Is this what others have seen or is this just my dealer making money?

I guess I am not looking forward to the 15,000 mile service. Since I don't have the service manual in front of me, what service do you get for $400 bucks. You may find out that you can do most or all of it yourself

Supreme service ???? Now that is funny!

Does the "supreme" service come with curly fries or do you get to spend some time with the cute receptionist while they work on your Jeep?

I'm willing to bet that the supreme service is a way to suck an extra $200 out of your wallet.

I would only pay for whatever is required to maintain the warranty. Whatever is listed in the manual for a 15k service is what I would pay for. Nothing more, nothing less.

I don't know what all they were trying to sell you, but I do know that the dealer charges big money (something like $200) for the diff fluid change (which is part of the 15K mile service). I would do that yourself, it is very easy. If you can change your oil you can do the diffs.

X2, if anything changing diff fluid is even easier than changing the oil as there is no filter to deal with. let us know what they say is included and I'm sure you'll get some good feedback.

Is this required to maintain the warranty? If it is not I would either service things diff's myself or find a local shop I trust . I say that because I have one that I trust and is very reasonable. If the warranty required it I would shop my nearest dealers.

what does is this "service" comprised of??? Better be similar to what you can get at an Asian Spa.

Just looked in the manual and there is nothing listed there for 15000 miles. They have stuff every 6000 miles.

Every 6000 miles:
Change engine oil and engine oil filter (every 6000 miles)
Rotate tires (every 6000 miles)

Every 12000 miles:
If using you vehicle for any of the following: Dusty or off road conditions. Inspect the engine air cleaner filter, replace if neccessary
Inspect Brake linings, replace is neccessary

Every 18000 miles:
Inspect the front & rear axle fluid, change if using your vehicle for police, taxi, fleet, off-raod or frequent trailer towing.

That's all the manual says for around 15,000 miles

IS this for the standard 3/36 or the lifetime?

Doesn't matter. As I understand it, you just need to have the vehicle inspected right around every 5 years to maintain the lifetime warranty. You are not required to have certain maintanance done by the dealership.
