To sell or not to sell

I have been offered a job which will require me to sell the jeep I just bought and purchase a larger SUV. I don't owe anything on the jeep but I will need to sell it to buy something else. My current job keeps me away from home about 6-7 months of the year sometimes more. The new offer will keep me home every night and pay 2/3 of what I'm making now. I love what I do but the kids are growing up fast and I would like to be home more. I have found a CJ7 with a 302 that I can buy for $4000 I would take the rest and buy something else.

Unbiased opinion's are needed

+1 Been on multiple deployments and know how much it sucks being away from the family. If you can be home every night at the cost of a Jeep take it!

It really depends... how much do you love the kids??? how much do you love the jeep???

Pick your favorite and never look back. (I hope its the kids ;))

Your new vehicle can now become your DD, and your CJ your offroad toy. Plus your wife will appreciate what you are doing for the family, and will be more willing to let you invest your disposable income in the CJ.

Just make sure it a clean coversion to the 302. Back in the day there were a lot of "hack" engine and driveline conversions that were very marginal.
