Should I trade in my Charger SE with a new 2008 Sahara Unlimited?
If you can afford the financial hit on the trade, go for it. Just drive the Wrangler for a while. They have come a long way as far as refinement, but are still rough around the edges because it's a Jeep thing.

No one has asked you what you plan on doing with the jeep, You did mention you will be moding it in the future but for what? Trails, rock climbing, mud running, or just for fun. Also like others have said the ride or feel of the jeep will be different. I own a 2 door 2008 x rescue green jeep and my wife has a 2 door 2009 Sahara. Both are stock and have the same tires, both are capable off road just as they are, but they do seem to ride and feel different. Do you have a family? if not why the Unlimited? if I had it to do again I would go for a Rubi but that's just me talking. Try all the models if you can, look at the price and what you want to do with your jeep and buy the one you like best! I would not trade your car in but sell it outright and use the cash on your new purchase! Good luck and let us know how you did!

and thanks again!
