Default Slight steeringwheel shimmy at freeway speeds.

It is barely noticeable, but it is constant once you reach freeway speeds.

Is that the track bar needing to be torqued? I did the bolt upgrade last year.

if it is always in the same range of speeds I would first look at getting the wheels balanced. Maybe a weight was thrown off. I also have experienced steering wheel shimmy with a broken belt internal to the tire, though this was not dependent on speed.

2008 JK. I'd give that entire front end a good going over, looking for bad tie rod/drag link ends, worn ball joints, unit bearings, etc. It could be a tire balance issue, but at that age I'd be surprised if you don't find some worn parts that should be replaced anyway. Unless this has been a garage queen and only has about 20K miles.

Okay thanks. I am going on a road trip next week and I'll go over the front end and get the tires balanced.

Thanks. It only happens at freeway speeds. 45+ or so.
