Think of it this way: When I was young I made $100/month (military pay has improved somewhat since then). I had $100 deductible. A month's pay. Today, you can't buy a policy that would have a month's worth of my income for a deductible (highest varies from $1000 to $2500, depending on insurer).

If that ever happens, I expect I'll do the obvious and tell him it's stored in the back of the Jeep. But, since the last time a cop stopped me I was 18 years old, I'm really not all that worried about that (I'm now 60).
