Thinking of a JKU Rubicon

I am thinking of trading in my 2011 xterra which is a great truck just don't think it's for me. It is just o hard to mod an everything is a chore.

I am looking at a 2011 JKU Rubicon stick, hardtop, power option with 15k miles on it. The dealership is asking $30,950 does this seem right? It seems high to me seeing as I could get a 2013 for less then 5k more.

The reason I am looking at the 2011 is it has the new interior and quite frankly the pentastar engine scares the hell out of me. Having never driven the 3.6 or the 3.8 is it really that big of a deal? Most of the 3.6 hp is made past 4k rpms isn't it? If so who keeps their engine revving that high?

This would be my first jeep so any help would be great.

Ive had 3 xterras and a frontier, after having this wrangler I doubt ill ever drive anything else. No input on the two engines, I have the 3.8 its definetly not snappy by any means, but its a jeep.. Playing off road is day and night with an xterra.

Sold my 2001 Xterra with 215K on it to buy my 2012 Sahara. I'm glad I waited for the 3.6. 19.5 mpg around town because I don't need to stomp it to the floor to get out in traffic.

The JKU is must easier to drive on a windy day.

We traded in our 2011 JKU Rubi for a 2013 JKU Rubi......I believe we made a GREAT choice.

Ive owned a 2007 JKU Rubi and now a 2012 JKU Rubi. Both auto with 4.10 gears. There is a very noticeable difference in power. I loved the 07, but very glad for the improvement on the 12. Even with my larger then stock tires the 12 drives better then the 07 with stock tires. If you can swing it get the 3.6, if you cant you will still love your JK.

What about their asking price?

Check Edmunds.com or KBB.com for pricing in your area.

Go for a 2013, use the treadlightly discount and save some dough, the new engine alone justifies the added expense over 2011 IMO.

Looks like I can get a better deal with truecar.

Went from an 08 6spd to a 2013 5spd auto. Believe me the pentastar 3.6 is light years ahead of the old 3.8
