Default throttle lag/surge with A/C and defrost

I have noticed that with the defrost or A/C on, the throttle will surge every few minutes, I understand that the compressor has to engage/disengage, but this is ridiculous and believe it to be something greater. When I am just cruising along, it'll do it and I have to feather the throttle as it will pick up speed otherwise, even with the cruise control set, it'll pick up 5-8 mph. When accelerating from a stop, it'll feel like it's about to fall on its face and then all of the sudden it'll feel like I hit the nitrous or the VTEC kicked in, I know this analogy doesn't translate to everyone but that is the easiest way for me to describe it. It cycles every minute or so, it's quite annoying when you're on the interstate and I have to constantly feel the engine lose and then regain power. I've checked/recharged the refrigerant, as one post has suggested due to the constant cycling of the compressor. Hopefully someone else has a suggestion, thank you in advance.

I've searched across this forum as well as just a general Google search and have seen several threads started with similar or the same symptoms as mine but there was never any update to the thread and I am doubting that anyone just lived with this problem.

Need a little more info, please. What year? Different engine/transmission combos might make a difference.

Having said that, it sounds like excessive drag in the A/C compressor. Not sure how to test that other than to replace the compressor. Maybe someone else has an idea?

sorry, I thought I had all the info in my signature, 2018 JKU 3.6 w/6spd manual, 105k miles. yeah, I thought maybe excessive drag also but didn't know how to test it either and didn't want to just throw parts at it; was hoping maybe someone else here had the same issue

I wanted to add to this, I realized that I did not include all of my mods, I have a Superchips Flashpaq running the performance 93 tune. I did not think that it was related to my issue and after removing the tune and going back to stock, I still feel it's unrelated. When I remove the tune, the ETC and ESC lights come on and it goes in to limp mode and idles very rough, I re-install the 93 tune and no issues. I am wondering if maybe the throttle issue is ETC/throttle body related and the performance tune is masking the issue.
