Default Tire deciscion help

Looking at some used tires because I'm cheap right now (mine are almost bald.) Here's what I've got it narrowed down to:

-32" Toyo on black Sahara stock (same wheels I have now) http://annarbor.craigslist.org/pts/4072356900.html
-aggressive looking, 5 of them
-33" Nitto Trail - would need wheels http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/pts/4162087865.html
-aggressive, but mud terrain, would need 5th wheel
-33" Nitto Mud on Rockstar wheels http://annarbor.craigslist.org/pts/4118334886.html
-4 of them, would need 5th, sweet wheels

This is my daily driver in Michigan so they'll see snow. I only drive 10 miles it work.

Any opinions?!

Sounds more like you are being frugal. I bought new tires because I'm just stupid. Buying slightly used may be a better decision for many.

My JK is my DD, I drive just about as far to work. A coworker had Mud Terrains and i hated them. They were LOUD and HEAVY which translated to too much noise with the doors off on the highway and crappy gas mileage.

I would go with DuraTrac's. You can find them occasionally, and it is worth having them shipped or even driving to go get them. I found 5 DuraTrac's for my boss from a guy in IL for $900 shipped. They only had 5K on 4 of them and 0 on the 5th.

For what it is worth, I went with Mickey Thompson ATZ P3s. They are a great daily driver tire, plus they have some good specs for off road use.

Do a LOT of research and pick the right tire for you. One of the things I did was I spent a lot of time compiling a spreadsheet of tires keeping stats on brand, model, sizes (height, rim, etc.), weight, tread depth, load rating and reviews. The DuraTrac would have been my first choice, but I wanted to be different so I bought the MTs.

Good luck!

Option 3 looks wore slam out, so I would toss them. Number 1 would probably be better for ice (more siping) but the tires will be more expensive down the road.

Thanks for the replies already!

I was scared mud tires would be loud. I'm leaning toward no on those now.

Maybe I'll search for Duratracs or go with choice 1!

Trail grapplers are quiet and are great on the road. Heavy, but great for DD.
