Default Warranty Question

I got back from dealer today because I noticed blackish fluid around the Bell housing/Transmission where they connect... they said it was coolant and that I needed a new frost plug, but I would have to pay for the Coolant 25.00$

My question is should I pay for the Coolant seeing that a Manufacturer defect is causing me to lose the coolant>? they say it is not covered under warranty the fluids that is but I cannot find that statement anywhere... anyone?

Thanx

They are covering the repair and labour but not to top it off in coolant? Find another dealer, that is just ignorant.

FYI, I had the SAME problem here, and they replaced it all AND the coolant.

I could not find their answers logical, recently I had an oil change next day oil was leaking in the driveway, brought it back to dealer said it was faulty oil filter and replace the oil, now with their logic I would have to pay for another oil change... that was not the same dealer but I just don't understand why I need to pay... and the only thing they say is Chrysler won't pay them for the Fluid..

Fluids required in the course of approved warranty repairs are always covered by warranty, be it oils or antifreeze.

Don't push it... Pay for the fluid and get the waranty work done and documented... You may need the paper trail later.

''Section2. What's covered under Chrysler Motors LLC's Warranties (2.1 b)'' What's covered''- The Basic Limited Warranty covers the cost of ALL parts and labor needed to repair any item on your vehicle when it left the manufacturing plant that is defective in material, workmanship, or factory preparation. THERE IS NO LIST OF COVERED PARTS SINCE THE ONLY EXCEPTION ARE TIRES...... The capital letters are mine, the info is straight out of the Warranty information booklet supplied with the owner's manual. A fluid is a ''part'', supplied by Chrysler under their part number. Your service advisor is BS'ing you.

Yes, the dealer is jerking you around. I have never had to pay anything for warranty work on any of my Jeeps.
