What to do!
 

I really want to get the JK unlimited X but don't know if I should wait till fall 2010 for the Pentastar V6...Is it still a rumor? I've read the existing 3.8L is still decent esp with simple mods like a new cold air intake and tuners. What should I do? I can't wait! :dontknow2:

I'm pretty sure the Pentastar V6 for the 2011 is just what you said... a rumor. I would go ahead and pull the trigger on a new JK especially if you can cash in on the Cash for Clunkers deal while it still lasts.

I just read it will be offered first in 2011 Grand Cherokee and be fully used in 2015...so I'm guessing the 3.8 will be around for a long time. Here is link:

Isn't the cash for clunkers only for buying a new vehicle 3 - 4 mpg better than your old car?

Advice from someone who did NOT wait and bought TWO vehicles with relatively new engines. I bought an '04 Ford Powerstroke with the new then 6.0 liter. Let's just say I ended up tradin it on the Jeep and leave it right there. Now my Jeep is in for drivability issues AFTER a new engine. Get the picture? Had I bought a 7.3 Powerstroke, instead of the 6.0, I'd still be in a Ford......and be happy. My advice is, no matter how attractive the 3.6 looks, don't get the first year production run......possibly not the second or third. Just my opinion though....for whatever that's worth.
