What a scam by Jeep in my opinion!!!!
Pearl when you lease a vehicle the lease price is base on the amount of depreciation of the vehicle while you have it. The dealer is gambling that the book value won't fall below their predetermined depreciation level. The vehicle value at the end of your lease is figured to the penny and you can turn the vehicle in a the end of the lease or you can purchase it at the predetermined value, which is spelled out in your sales/lease contract. All leases are like this. This E-bay dealer is advertising a attractive price on a Rubicon, but he is making up the $7000.00 on the required upfront one year lease. remember a lease/sale is always that- a lease THEN the sale. Remember that this dealer is requiring the sale up front with the lease. Nothing sneaky about it, just unusual......

Ok I looked the ad over and it does say the price includes a lease rebate. it's not a come on its just advertising lingo manufacturers do it all the time as well as dealers. Most ad prices on new vehicles say after rebate or after college grad rebate or after lease cash etc.. I know California is a little different and more strict for dealers and manufacturers guidelines regarding advertising laws.
Even so if you were to Buy this jeep Rather than Lease it the price would be 2000 more and that is still a killer deal on a Rubicon with that MSRP.
Dealers are not the only ones who advertise this way either Just look at any electronics store ad like Circuit City or any cell phone store. Their ads are always after rebate also. And at least in California a Rebate is Just that A rebate you pay tax on the sales price of the Item and then the rebate comes off instantly or in a Check mailed back to you. The only thing is with vehicles people usually apply the rebate as down payment on the vehicle and not a check back in the mail, Although I have had a few people do just that get a lease on a car for 299 mo. no money down and get a 2000 check in the mail to boot.
In my opinion buy that rubi on ebay it's still a steal
