Wheel Well Carpet while Doorless

Snapped a pic of how I rerouted my wire loom on each side. Don't mind the dirt please. Red line is generally how I recall that being from the factory. Min is really tucked up under the little lip around the door. I kind of wonder if you did something like that, even with carpet, if it would help hold the carpet in place better under that lip as there'd be a little pressure sandwiching the carpet between the wire loom and the body. Anyhow, that exposed loom looks like junk from the factory, but mine isn't that noticeable from outside the jeep.

Finally got some time to get the carpet out. My wife is worried about it getting too hot or cold for the kids, and since my sound goop doesn't look like garbage, I think I'm going to leave it alone and not bed line it for the time being and hang on the the carpet just in case I have to put it back in.

Also, I had to take out my power inverter that I had mounted under the passenger seat and in the process accidentally poked through this stuff under the cowl by the battery (picture #1 with 1 finger). The same place on the driver side was never covered (picture #2 with 2 fingers). Should I cover the area that I poked through? If so, what with?

I think they changed that sound deadening stuff in '15. My '13 was def old style, and I have a couple buddies with '15's and they look like your's. That definitely isn't quite as ugly. I was fine running just like that for a while. The only reason I bedlined was thinking it would look nicer and the molding would blend in better....which it does. Unfortunately, I didn't realize bedliner would be damn near impossible to keep clean. As along as you're not scratching up the tub real bad for some reason, I'd leave it as is since your goop looks decent.
