Default Wheels to off road

I am looking at getting black wheels for my black rubicon. I am debating over American Racing ATX Predator 16x8 or Cragar Street Locks or Cragar Soft both at 15x8.

I steel the only way? Or are the predators good too?

I would not say that steel is the only way to go. Steelies are good because if you dent them you can beat them back into shape, which you cannot do with an alloy. The problem is that steel wheels are also very heavy. Plus, it takes an awful lot to break an alloy wheel.

Steel wheels are heavier than the alloys, which unless you are planning to regear, will make your Jeep more sluggish on the road. Others may disagree buy I would put black allow or powder coated wheels or your JK.

Hmm... two exact opposite opinions.

I can't decide for the life of me. I'm also thinking of the Ion 170's 15x8. Not sure they will fit. Anyone know?

Yea steel isn't the only way to go. I actually ditched my steelies to get Rubi wheels and tires. Surprisingly with the extra meat the JK isn't much slower at all. The alloys really help with weight reduction too.

Like eMetal said. Go whichever way you want. It's your Jeep.

I chose to go with 16x8 black alloys. Lighter wheels and pretty tough as well. I went with Pro Comp 7089's. here's a couple of photos of them.
