Question Will a soft top fit under the hard top of a 4 door?

I had a 2 door and my soft top fit under the hard top for those surprise downpours we have in Tennessee. I just bought a 4 door and it came with both tops also. The soft top wasn't installed so now I'm wondering if the geometry of the 4 door vs 2 door still allows the soft top under the hard top for emergencies when the hard top is hanging in the garage...?

I'm not quite sure what you mean by it fit under the hard top. Do you mean in the cargo area? Or actually UNDER the whole hardtop?

They're shipped that way but not meant to be run like that. The soft top would get damaged over time. For rain emergencies wouldn't you just close the soft top?

Plus the extra brackets etc for the soft top won't allow full hard top installation.

If soft top if down and the soft tops plastic side pieces that seal around the doors are removed the answers would be it's possible. However, I am not sure why you would want to do that as it's very easy to pull or insert the soft top. There are some quick disconnects for the bow arms so with those you could add or remove the entire soft top in less than 5 min.

On my 2 door it could be installed and folded back with the plastics in the cargo area. That way you had the security of the hard top but if you took it off and left, you could throw the soft up in a moments notice.

That way you didn't have to choose hard or soft top for daily use, you had both.

Still not making sense. Daily use? One top is enough & you're not supposed to have both tops mounted at the same time. The factory only ships both mounted for shippings sake, and one top is to removed by the customer.

Nevermind. I'll just run the hard top and say F-U to the rain when it's off.

Why don't you run the soft top folded down, then flip it up when it rains? Gotta be easier than trying to throw on the hard top with short notice. Are we missing something?
