Winter driving

So how bad will my jeep handle in winter/snow with 285/75/16's? Tires are MT MTZ's. I have not installed them yet but it is killing me ... I want them on! 2.5" BB is on its way and wheels will be soon. So by the first of the year it will be lifted and parts here ... but should I wait til spring? or will it be okay driving it with these tires?

Why would it be bad? I have an old 1988 Ranger pickup 4X4. all stock and it does just fine in the snow...

I wouldn't worry that much about it. Snow should be fine, but if you suspect ice is present drive very slowly..

I can vouch from past experience that MT tires on ice is guaranteed slip and slide time, unless you are extremely careful.

Well the wider the tire the worse they are in the snow. Plus the lugs on these tires are pretty big which would lead me to think they might suck in the snow.
