If you're going to kill Bill Murray, make sure he's actually a Zombie......

Regarding the Zombie genre stuff, I think it just fits well with offroading. If your prepared for Zombies, your pretty much prepared for anything. Most Jeep mods already revolve around protection, of the vehicle and the driver, and recovery. Since offroading mods, and mods you would want for the zombie apocalypse overlap so well, it's fun to joke around about rigging up for the zombie apocalypse. I also happen to be a huge fan of zombie survival games and movies, so that's another plus for me.

Look up Zombie Squad forums for a bit of what I'm talking about. It's a general preparedness/survivalist forum with a subforum on bug out vehicles that's fun to turn to for mod inspiration. The site revolves around surviving against zombies, but it's all tongue-in-cheek. No one actually is expecting an onslaught of zombies to come their way.

Back on topic, this is a must have for the zombie apocalyse. Use it to get your Jeep unstuck, dig a toilet, or lob off zombie heads. I once went after a copperhead with one of these. It took the head off in one swing (The edge is a blade, so it doubles as an axe), and left a gash in the street pavement without much effort. I use this thing all the time, especially while camping. It's a great firepit tool, tree limb cutter, and for digging the latrine.

Stuff to have in JK in case of Zombie Apocalypse:
1.) Lots of various cordage and tow straps
2.) At least 2 field medic first aid kits
3.) Binoculars
4.) Night vision equipment of some kind
5.) Climbing/rappelling gear
6.) Entrenchment tool (shovel)
7.) Recovery gear should you get the JK stuck
8.) Small essential tool kit
9.) HAM/mobile radio - your iPhone or Droid will quickly become useless
10.) Water and food in SEALED packages - I carry at least two cases of bottled water in my JK at pretty much anytime ESPECIALLY in the summer months. I keep trail mix and energy bars in there too. Water purification tabs are good idea too
11.) Fire starting stuff (waterproof matches, cotton balls soaked in Vaseline, dried cypress bark fibers...all in a waterproof box)
12.) Assault rifle and lots of ammo (here is a recent pic of my Colt HBAR with new furniture...I have over 700 rounds immediately available for use). I also keep at least 100 rounds of ammo on-hand for my Winchester Model 70 300 Win Mag (both weapons shown below)
Attachment 325875
13.) Tactical shotgun (12 gauge) with lots of ammo (my little stash is shown below). I keep a few hundred rounds of various types of 12-gauge shells on-hand
Attachment 325873
14.) Fuel cans and a couple of quarts of oil
15.) Paper maps of area where you live and at least a 250 mile radius around it. Your GPS will work as long as the satellites remain in orbit
16.) Spare batteries of all kinds
17.) Power inverters and solar panels
18.) Various cutting tools/weapons (look a few lines up for a few members of my collection)
19.) Flash lights and glow sticks
20.) Gloves (leather and latex)
21.) Smoke bombs and flares
22.) Small cooking stuff like cast iron skillets and some steel mil-issue utensils

Any additions???

Makes me think I should stock up on Twinkies!

Backon topic - I need to find some hubcaps like the ones on the car in Grease, for the ones that try to slide by.
