Happy Valentines Day, right? Joey, Gaskins and Ioana and I went to do a little off roading today. We went on a trail that I've run through at least two dozen times. When we finish the trail I ask if they want to go and do it the reverse way. So we're going and take a wrong turn. I do a u'ey and head back to where I thought we should be. During that wrong turn something happened to get my ABS light to come on so I stop to make sure everything was okay. My brake line came out of the little bracket holding it, so I fix it, get a zip tie for it and get ready to go. While this is happening an older gentleman came up to us that was walking through the woods and he lets us know that all of the land that we were on was his. He was super friendly and couldn't believe that the Rubicon could do his trails (which blows my mind). He says that there's a fun way to go that would dump us out at the beginning of the trail. We take his advice, and it was good, but we hit a fork with a mud hole that didn't look too bad. Two of my tires were on the edge and when I went to drive I slid down into it. I hit the gas and it only caused us to slip some more. Now I got scared. I had my doors off BTW. So now it's pretty much at tipping point and Joey is inches from the water and some is coming in. I tell them that they should get out before I attempted to drive out. We all get out and I quickly realize that I can't get out without tipping, and that was the last thing I wanted to do. No other Jeeps were with us so I decide that the best idea was to winch ourselves out. It could have gone wayyyyy wrong, but the angle of the cable was just right and we got out! I told them, if we get ourselves out, I'm getting BOMBED tonight!

It was honestly the scariest thing that's happened to be out there, but we made it, yelled and screamed and hugged each other and made it back to the local Rivermill bar to get a celebratory shot and beer.

It's gonna be a lonnnnnnnnng night!
