Default Colorado Trip - Taylor Pass & Black Bear Pass

Just returned from a fantastic trip to Colorado and thought I would share some pics. Our original plan was to do Pearl Pass however we had heard it was still closed so we did Taylor Pass first from Taylor Park Reservoir over to Aspen. We never saw another jeep (only quads and motorcycles). Then we drove down to the Ouray/Tulluride area and did the famous Black Bear Road. This trail definitely gets the blood flowing! I only wish we had time to do some more trails in the area. I can't wait to go back next year.

Great pics! I've never been down Black Bear Pass. The views are awesome. The building and waterfall were very interesting. Thanks!

Really nice pics, and looks like an awesome trip! Yeah, "The Steps" looked like they would certainly get your blood flowing - not that they look particular challenging by themselves, but the fact that a mistake could send your rolling for a looooooooong time would make me white knuckled.

Thanks for sharing, have to put those on the list.

Thanks for the pics. I was on Taylor Pass 16 years ago in a Nissan pick up and it remains one of my favorite western adventures. It was earlier in the season and we came up from Aspen only to have the trail blocked at the top. Not a fun place to reverse. But we hiked to the top and had a great time. Hopefully one day my JK will make the trip from Bama to CO.
