Thumbs up Project-JK Jeepers Jamboree Rubicon Trail Run 2008

What can I say but WOW!!! As most of you know, we just got back from running the Rubicon Trail with DizzyLiz and kidjeep and for those of you who haven't had the opportunity to run it for yourself, let me tell you, it really is everything that it's cracked up to be. Likewise, there is a reason why the Jeepers Jamboree has the world famous legendary status that it has and it's that they put on one hell of an event. I apologize for not have more photos than I do but we were short a photographer and were forced to choose between taking video or still the entire way. Anyway, here are a few shots from our run....

Bright and early at the Loon Lake staging area...

Getting some grub before heading out...

The first Rubicon Trail marker and entrance to the trail...

Sean making his way down onto the Granite Bowl....

Shots from the Granite Bowl...

Shots of what the trail looked like along the way....

Crossing a log bridge erected by the Friends of the Rubicon...

more rocks we encountered along the way...

one of the few flat sections of trail...

but, it was short lived...

exgman coming in for a landing at Buck Island Lake...

Dizzy and her husband Sean cooling off at Buck Island Lake...

Did I mention there were a few rocks on the trial...

and a few ledges to climb...

Our... er, um... lovely campsite...

What Rubicon Springs looked like everywhere...

Vendor Show....

Cooking up chow....

View looking up the Rubicon River...

Small waterfall down the way...

Shot across the Rubicon River looking out across the other end of camp...

Repair station at Rubicon Springs...

People getting ready for the big giveaways...

No, you are not imagining this...

Shot of the live music entertainment...

Nightime was a big bonfire mega party in the woods...

On our way out, Sean making his way through one of the tougher sections along Cadillac Hill...
