Awesome thread! Any great campsites/campgrounds here in the Midwest? Kansas City/Omaha/Tulsa area?
I like the shots where it looks like you can pull up anywhere and setup camp. Around here it is all campgrounds or regulated land. I want something I can pull up right next to a lake or river and setup camp. I don't want to have to camp out on a numbered lot that's regulated, etc.
Any insight or photos regarding the midwest camping would be great!

Typically in our Northwoods here there are a considerable amount of mosquitos, black flies, and deer flies. However, this campsite was very free of them that night. Keeping a fire going helps quite a bit as well.
When they are nasty, that's when you turn to your favorite repellent - Muskol rocks and is worth it's weight in gold during those times.
