Actually, if you're referring to the tent all the way to the left, that's directedby. :toung: :toung: I think Jeepcacher was listing us by Jeep!

He had a sweet little spot over there, though-- nicely tucked in to the rocks.

Awesome thread! Any great campsites/campgrounds here in the Midwest? Kansas City/Omaha/Tulsa area?

I like the shots where it looks like you can pull up anywhere and setup camp. Around here it is all campgrounds or regulated land. I want something I can pull up right next to a lake or river and setup camp. I don't want to have to camp out on a numbered lot that's regulated, etc.

Any insight or photos regarding the midwest camping would be great!

Chequamegon, WI. It's my favorite campsite now, since it was my first with my Jeep.

this campsite looks like you'd get eaten alive by bugs though. Is it pretty bad? My girlfriend would flip.

Typically in our Northwoods here there are a considerable amount of mosquitos, black flies, and deer flies. However, this campsite was very free of them that night. Keeping a fire going helps quite a bit as well.

When they are nasty, that's when you turn to your favorite repellent - Muskol rocks and is worth it's weight in gold during those times.
