I'm lucky enough to live in a part of the world where it's very easy to get back country (foothills east of Seattle). I'm in search and rescue (ground pounder, JK is just my transport), mountaineering, backpacking, hunting. Most often, the Jeep is left at a trailhead for backpacking, tent will be miles away. But, occasionally, we "Jeeppack".

Secret Mt St Helens spot. Tent is hidden behind trees to the left, but you can see the mountain peaking above them.
