Weather still looks clear, and D#1 wants to go to Catacomb Rocks, so we continue down into the valley towards Chicken Corners.

We end up hiking all the way around Catacomb Rocks and it is getting hotter outside of the shade of the caves inside, so we head for Jeep.

After we eat, the weather still looks mostly clear, so we decide to venture out a little bit again and start up Gemini Bridges Trail.

So we put on our rain jackets and head out to hike down to the bridges. We jump in Jeep and run towards the top of the hill and hwy 313 to try to get to pavement before the road conditions get too much worse.

I asked a Ranger dude at the visitors center and he said some trails like White Rim Trail can take 2-3 weeks to heal after a flash flood rain like this, so I guess we will avoid the river bottom trails and stick to mountain / higher elevation trails tomorrow... |
Day 6 - MOAB
Today started with a slightly latter than planned start, and breakfast at Denny's while we discussed where to go and what to do...
I have been looking forward to trying FINS and THINGS trail for weeks, so D#1 finally, reluctantly gave in.. http://i796.photobucket.com/albums/y...ps64cb03d4.jpg I find out that she greatly enjoys the easier trails, basically gravel roads and the curvy paved roads, and she likes driving those. She is not crazy about me wanting to do the difficult trails. So she isn't happy riding over this: http://i796.photobucket.com/albums/y...psa9448690.jpg I was planning to mount my go pro on the bumper bar but was missing one mount piece (dangit!) so I shot dashcam footage that will be posted later when I have time to edit. On top of one of the Fins, we run into a guy riding solo in a TJ from Texas. I mean, I only dragged my rear bumper once!!! :lol3 But being the good dad I am, we stop at the turn off and my friend in the TJ goes on and doesn't notice us stop.
