12.5 vs 13.5 Tires Help
Is there any postitive or negatives to running a 12.5 wide tire versus running a 13.5 tire? I am looking at the Maxxis Razr in a 35x12.5x17 or a 35x13.5x17, I will be getting the KMC Machete beadlock wheels 3.5BS and are 9 inches wide. I have a 3 inch lift with flat fenders.

With those wheels you are fine running a 13.50 wide. I highly doubt you'll see any performance differences....it's really more about looks/stance. The 13.5's gonna weigh bit more, create more drag. I've run 37x12.5x17 Nitto TGs for a few years. I just moved from 3" BS (4.5" BS wheels with 1.5" spacer) to 3.5" BS beadlocks......tbh, I miss the stance a bit. I may consider going to a 13.50 on my next tire.....but it would only be for looks. Current tires have done everything I've asked of them.

That's more rubber on the ground creating more wear and tear on parts. I'll have to dig but I've got a picture of a 12.5 next to a 13.5 as my friend runs the 13.5's and loves them but they absolutely grab -everything- on the road.....and even moreso on the trail when he takes it out.

The 13.5 is on the left and the 12.5 is on the right. My friend ordered the 13's, they sent 12's then had to send 13's for him to put back on. He ended up with 15 of these 37" Cooper tires in his kitchen.
Additionally....for kicks and giggles- a 315mm and one of those same 13.5's.
