Anyone running 33 12.5 tires on 17 inch stock wheels?
Wasn't sure if 12.5 inch wide tires would be too big for the 7.5 inch wide wheels. Anyone have pictures?

Here is my gallery, I have 35x12.5 on my stock 17's. 33's should work as well. There are quite a few people running 285/70R17 tires on stock rims.

I would like 35's but I have an auto with 4.10 gears and I am not wanting to re-gear or atleast not anytime soon, so I would rather run 33's.

For those automatic owners running 35x12.5 tires, what gears are you running? how are the 4.10's with 35's? What kinda gas mileage do you get with an automatic 4.10's and 35's? Can't afford a re-gear right now so that will determine whether I get 33's or 35's, definitely want 12.5 wides.

I'm doing a compromise. The 305X70R17 is 34" X 12.2". Many have said the 33s with 4.10's is OK. I am also getting the Superchip to get my speedo corrected and shift points modified. Along with it comes about a 7% power gain. The 34" is a 6% increase over the 32" so it should be a wash. I didn't want to regear for now because the 4:1 TC and 5.13 gears might be a little too slow for the trails we run.
P.S. I wanted 10.5" wide tires for the increased traction, but can't get them in anything that I want above 33". If I were going to run 33s I would get the narrower ones. I put the 33X10.5s on my ZJ and a buddy put the 33X12.5s on his wrangler. Both are KM2s. We both have lockers. I can climb hills that he spins out on. We feel is is because I have a narrower tire and more PSI on the ground. There are other articles that point to the same results. The wide tire looks tough and is better for mud or sand, but rolls harder down the highway.

33x 12.5 R17
I have the nitto mud grappler, 33x 12.5 on the rubi wheels. You will need spacers and lift because they rub.
I went with the spidertrax spacers and the teraflex leveling kit. I like the results very much.
