Interco Birddog Wheels - what's your experience at very low tire pressures?
The Interco website suggests this non-beadlock wheel will support tires pressures as low as 4 psi without losing a bead. Four Wheeler magazine did some testing at 5 psi and said they didn't loose a bead at that pressure. What are the experiences of those who have them and run very low tire pressure? What other pros/cons do they have?

Good luck with the research |
I'd ask one question. With all of the high quality wheel manufacturers out there, why is the only company to offer a wheel with that characteristic, a tire company? It isn't that new either, so maybe a second question would be why don't other companies do the same thing?
Beadlocks are not a hassle, that is an incorrect perspective preached by non-beadlock owners. Stopping twice to fix blown beads on other peoples Jeeps when I was out last - that's a hassle. |
My buddy actually helped design the birddogs and just installed them. They are incredibly well built rims and look way better in person then in photos. He runs them at 13psi off road with no issues in the rocks. currently he is running MT atzp3's and says they are great. at 13psi the tires engulf rocks extremely well.
towards the end of the video you can see them. http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps8188b699.mp4 |
