Hey everyone. Just got back in to the Jeep game after a small hiatus. Bought a nearly new 2018 JK and was anxious to get new rims and tires. As a daily driver I didn't want to go above 33" so I got Dick Cepek 285/70R17 Fun Country's and Fuel Assault rims. I actually hadn't thought much about the weight until they arrived and realized they were 101-102 lbs. I see the that Fuel rims alone weigh 42 lbs. So this seems pretty heavy on a stock Jeep. Am I being paranoid? Are others running 33's with this kind of weight on stock?

42 for a non bead lock is a bit high, my double bead lock weight around 50. I would not worry about the weight with 33's.

Those Fun Country tires are an excellent all around, long lasting tire. That is pretty heavy for a 33" wheel/ tire combo, but did you weigh the stock wheels to see how much the difference actually is? I don't think you will have any problems with it.

Stock 17 is about 25lbs and with the stock good year is total about 54lbs

I've seen different weights for stock tires. Haven't taken them off yet so not sure. This thread gives the 54lb but looks like they agreed it was about 61 (https://www.wranglerforum.com/f274/w...re-167141.html). So a little over 40 more lbs per tire. I couldn't actually find the tire weight on Goodyear's site. Is anyone running this kind of weight on 33's? How's the ride? Any issues with other components?

As far as I know (According to the VIN search and assuming no one did any other work) the Jeep I have now has 3.21 gears.

Realistically, you're not sending those back right? Throw em on and enjoy. The weight is what it is.

HAHA! No... I'm not sending them back. I'm just interested in what I can expect. I've run 33's on my YJ and my TJ in the past, but they were never this heavy. And right now I'm not doing any other after-market work. At most I had planned to probably get a spacer lift, perhaps a 2" coil lift. Nothing to break the bank.

If I remember right, that's about what my 35s came out to wheels and tires. Shouldn't be an issue. I would run em!

I recently purchased KM2s (285/75r17) and used the stock Willys wheels. The weight of my tires is +/- 95lbs...based off of a bathroom scale. On the roads, the 3.73 gearing handles the extra weight well; however, I recently did a little offroading and realized the Jeep struggled on some of the hills while in 4hi. No issues with 4lo.
