Default Leveling kit?

Thinking about a leveling kit, which shows one inch in the back and two in the front, right now I still have the factory 255/75 r17 tires, I don't think that I am going to put big tires on it, but would like a little taller.
with just a leveling kit and factory aluminum wheels, what is the recommended size that you can go up to?

I was thinking about a 265/80r17, but wasn't sure if it would clear everything

Thats an odd size tire and don't even see it offered anywhere. Most that want a small increase in tire size go to the 285/70 R17 which is a narrow 33" tire and should fit fine. You are only talking 1/2" in terms of clearance over the factory tires.

Plenty of people do what you're looking to do. It'll look and perform just fine with the factory wheels.

I ran that set up for a few years with stock 255's then 295's. I also ran wheel adapters to just push them out a tad.

just did a 2.5 RK lift on 285/70 r17 Cooper SST mud terrain /stock rims and the visual transformation is fantastic. Jeep also handles well and with no less performance.

Ok, I'm still confused, but that's normal for me.
from what I've read, a stock jk with factory aluminum wheels, you can go up to a narrow 33, but with a leveling kit, which is two inches in the front, one in the back, you can still only go up to a narrow 33, the width I understand unless you get a different offset or spacers. But is that right about the height?
Why get a leveling kit, other than looks, if the same tire still is the biggest you can go up to

I don’t necessarily think 285/70r17 is a “narrow” 33, short 33 maybe but it’s only about an inch narrower than most 35’s.... as far as fitting with no lift, it might for street use but you’ll rub at flex and definitely have issues disconnected without the leveling kit. With the leveling kit you’ll be fine as long as you have less backspacing. I have a teraflex leveling kit with 285/70r17’s with 4.75 inch backspaced wheels.

I’m actually going to be doing the same thing to my 2017 JKU Willy’s edition. I have the Tera Flex leveling with 1.5 spacers and stock wheels. I came across the KO2s at 315/70/17. I don’t think they are a true 35? Anyone know if they would fit with that setup and if it would cause any problem to the suspension?
