Default Tire carrier

Just put K02 33’s on my 2dr, 2013 JK, 285R75/17 ‘s.The tires weigh 60 lbs. Not comfortable putting a tire on the rear carrier. Any suggestions for an aftermarket carrier while keeping my original bumper.

Teraflex, MorRyde, or Metalcloak. There are other brands out there but these would be my first choice given your criteria. I've got the MorRyde and the benefit is greaseable hinges. It'll support a 37*13.5" tire if you ever go that far.

Agree. Don't be tempted with the cheap knockoff models of these carriers. The carriers aren't cheap, but don't think of it as blowing money......cuz you can always pull it off if you sell the jeep and sell it for a slight discount to new. They hold their value as long as you take care of it.

I run the Crawler Conceptz body mounted carrier and it has been great. Easy install and very solid. Will hold a 40" tire and there are a bunch of accessory upgrades available for it.

What year is your JK? The '15+ will hold up to 85 lbs on the stock carrier. The 37 KO2 with a 17x9 wheel I just ordered is under 85 lbs. I'll still be changing to an HD carrier but you're only rocking a 33.

Where did you come across your information about an increased weight capacity on the 15+ tailgate? I'd like to see it straight from the factory literature if you've got it available.

I have the crawler conceptz body mounted carrier and I am not completely pleased. When driving through the dunes the spare bounces around a bit. It's sticks away from the body more than I would like. When driving up to or off of a steep obstacle I drag my spare on the ground. I even drilled holes to get it higher then the original holes would allow. If I were to do it again I would get the Evo body-mounted tire carrier. I open my tailgate a lot and appreciate that I don't need to have an extra step to open it with these Tire carriers.
