1. Start by inserting the fuse tap into the M7 Slot. The yellow fuse that's there is a 20 Amp accessory fuse. Remove it and insert into the fuse tap. Be sure to plug the fuse in to the right slot.

2. For the tapped wire, I used a 10-gauge wire with a 10-amp fuse. Drill a small hole in the fuse enclosure so you can run the wire.

3. Run the wire through the firewall and through to the console. Make sure to zip tie the wires away from the pedals! Those things make the vehicle move and stop. Learn from Toyota’s mistake.

4. Next, find a good place for the switch. I took a picture of a ¾” drill bit because I thought it would help illustrate, but I’ll let you guys use your imagination. Just ignore those red wires. I’ll fix em eventually…

7. Inside that thick black Japanese wire you’ll find two teeny wires. I didn’t take a picture of this, but you’re gonna wanna connect these to your handy dandy 18 gauge wires and run them over to the area where you put your switch.

8. I installed 3 of these strips. One on lip of the center console and one under the dash on each side because I like to see my feet when I drive. Run the wires (both the positive and negative) back to where the switch is however you want. Pretty easy to figure out. Oh yeah also, you can remove pretty much any of those panels with a flathead screwdriver. Unclip and pull. Here are some pixz.

9. If my sensational photography skills don’t make this clear, this picture is of the area behind the panel beneath the steering wheel. The six wires that are zip tied are the 3 positives and 3 negatives from the 3 LED strips.

10. It is very apparent that this is not the correct way to do this.

11. The top of the switch is to the ground, the middle is supply (from the fuse tap) and the bottom is to the LED positives. The LED negatives should also be connected to the ground wire. If you’re sitting in the driver’s seat, the bolt near your left foot with the wires attached to it is the ground. Connect the ground wire there. (the amperage is low enough to not cause any audio interference)

Now close that shit up and…

BAM! You done. Nice work, gentlemen. Nice work.

Yeah, it looked a lot better in my head. It's definitely helpful to flip them on if I drop something, but keeping them on "for show" is not at all what I was going for.

I like the footwell lighting, but I think the center console is a little too much red.
