2 inch auto zone coil spacers
 

So I'm in auto zone daydreaming/ making a mental shopping list of things I want to buy in near future and I see 2 inch coil spacers labeled to "restore" ride height for worn coils I guess. The package claims 1-2 inches added to your ride height. Comes with 4 in a package (2 spacers per coil) for $7.99!!!!!!! I bought 2 packages and installed and it did indeed add 2 inches!!!! anyone see any downsides to these??? I test drove the hell out of it and I can't feel any difference.

So basically I did a 2 inch spacer lift on my jeep for 16 bucks. Install was easy.
jack up wheel and remove.
Use heavy duty ratchet strap to spread coils
lube spacers with wd-40
voila!!!! release strap, be careful with that part.

I had those on my 1980 Mustang Cobra.
To cheaply lift the back end.
My experience with them is. They will constanlty move and change place.
You will find them in different areas of the coil.

you should be careful with these. i wouldnt use them.

Interesting, I wonder if it's putting to much stress on that specific part of the spring. It would kinda worry me. I'd use them on a beater trail rig in a heart beat, just not my daily driver.

Thanks for your input, I'll keep close eye on them. By no means is this a permant fixture. Still have plans for lifting jeep the "right way"

the teraflex level kit 2 in front 1 in rear is only 115$ i believe. well worth it. i run it for now.
thats spacers front and rear and new front links.

looks like you will lose them if you flex the coils out

i was thinking the same thing, i dont think you would be able to compress them either...i definitely wouldnt wheel with them

Wow, figured someone would use those. Those are pretty much a terrible idea in and all situations. Them shooting out could really 'upset' the vehicle when you aren't planning on it, they'll walk around, and aesthetically just amusing. Just a bad idea. "real" coil spacers are about $25 a corner. About as 'cost effective' as i wanted to get :dontknow2:

What do ya'll think the out come would be if one of those puppies got loose on highway and shot out at another car or took out the brake line? I think they'd have enough momentum to do a bit of damage. a piece of rubber that big bouncing down the highway would easily take out a window/windshield. I say take them off and leave 'em off. 16 dollar experiment isn't worth taking someone out or having your jeep get 'squirly' at a high speed: 2cents :. I'll give ya props for trying it out though.
