Anyone know how to pull off the dash?
I know, a scary question. I think my son's glasses fell between the windshield and the top of the dash (there is enough room for them to fall in there) I took off as much as I dared last weekend. I know there is something like a main (magnesium I think) bracket that holds everything together. From what I saw, there are 2 bolts on the driver's side and 2 bolts on the passenger side, along with the two nuts on the top of the dash (under the 2 small square covers on the top of the dash) that holds it to the firewall. I took out all the bolts/nuts and it still wouldn't come off. The passenger side came loose a bit, but the drivers side held strong, even with the bolts out.
If anyone can point me in the right direction on how to pop it off enough to get a hand back in there from the top, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Greg

There is another thread on here for the same thing. I'm pretty sure he lowered his windshield to retrieve his glasses then put a piece of pipe insulation in the gap to prevent it from happening again.

I am sitting here looking at the FSM on pulling it out, and comparing it to the pictures in the parts fiche, I am not convinced you can pull the plastic without removing the entire dash assembly (it might be possible, but dayum what a project) The manual has you remving the wiring harness to the fuse box, heater core, every scrap of plastic, there looks to be bolts behind the dash end caps, on top of the dash, behind the center stack and glove box etc. The major portion of the dash plastic is all one piece as per the parts breakdown.
If it was me, i would drop the windshield.
