The purple tab appears to be the lock for the connector release.
You probably need to slide the purple lock outward so that you can squeeze the release to remove the connector.

Thank you for the reply. I ended up using a scribe & mirror to "jimmy" the connector so it would release. I tried sliding, lifting, prying....using a come-a-along and the scribe method is what worked.
