Default Belt Change

Pretty sure I understand how the drive belt change works, just want some confirmation. You have to use a 3/8 drive with a breaker bar I think. Which way does it go? Had my belt replaced and am keeping the old one as a back up to put in my off road bag and want to make sure I can do it in a pinch. If someone could post some pics, that would be killer or even just a simple write up. Thanks

Take a pic of how the belt is run so if you loose yours you know how it goes. All you do is put the breaker bar in the square hole and push down. It can be done without a breaker bar by pushing down on the pulley, but its way easy with the bar.

Is there a reason for the change? I think most belts are good for 100-150k. I changed my Nissans belt at 150k even though it looked good. I've got 101k on my Buick belt and 72k on a Saturn belt.

Thanks for the info, changed mine mostly because I wanted a backup, I do a lot of hunting and camping, and because it had 75k on it. Is is an auto tensioner, or do I have to adjust it.

It's self-adjusting so no worries there.
