Default Bikini on steroids

I won't take full credit for the idea, but I did add a twist to this. I bought a bestop bikini, windjammer, duster combo for those trips where I'd like to remove the top and enjoy the elements. Well as some of u know, the bikinis are such a pain in the butt to take off and on. I was so unhappy with the time involved in removal/install that I only used it once. I did however love the truck look while it was on. So I decided to try something that I've wanted to do for a while. Enjoy the pics and I'll keep posting pics as I get more done.

DAY 1
pull out the good ol' sawzall for the donor top I bought from a list belonging to CRAIG.

Then I began with removing the window frame area

Then I cut the sides

Then I chalk lined and began to cut more parts

The rear top portion tapers so the end piece will be sectioned to fit the new bikini panel.

So many of u have seen this before ... Here's the twist I added.. I cut the pillar and used donor door surrounds so it folds for easy storage

At this point, my father in law had started up the BBQ so I stopped for the day to enjoy an ice cold BlueMoon.

I want to do this! Subscribed, I had that combo but it always leaked. Did you use a beat up hard top or a new one?

Im sure it will look great. Anything anyone does to their own jeep is well worth the project. I went with the Spiderweb Shade/Trailmeshfrom spiderweb shade for just 89.99. never have to take it off, and no more sunburns while driving.Click image for larger version
