Default blacked the inside of my hardtop duplicolor truck bed liner

since my top has been off since the morning after it came home, and will be going back on with winter coming, I thought I would get rid of the white inside on the hard top. I really liked the easyness of the spray dupli-color truck bed liner and I love the look of the finish, so that is what I used. I picked it up at advance auto for $8 a can. You will need at least 6 to finish it but I think I will pick up one more and do a few touch up spots. You can roll it on as well , but I chose this way insted. To start off I sanded with 250 grit and knocked the shine down to give the duplicolor liner something to grab. This took forever and my arms were tired but I wanted it to turn out so I kept at it. Once I finished, I cleaned up the dust ,then masked it all off . This takes some time as well. Once you get to this step just wipe it down with some alcohole to remove any grease or dirt. Now that it is all prepped get your vapor mask( you need one ) or do this out side ( I should have done it ouside) you can start to spray . There is no turning back now, your going black Take your time, have fun and when your done admire your hard work. post up pics later .

Very nice work. I would love to do that but I don't think I have the patience to do it that nice.

That is exactly what I have been planning on doing to my top, I will just have to wait until the summer to swap tops out to do this. I really don't think it would be smart to paint it on the Jeep.

I agree they should come from the factory like this... the white inside is just fugly, IMHO.

Really nice job!

Awesome timing (mostly). I was on another thread just yesterday and bedliner came up as an alternative for the hard top interior. Unfortunately, I just put the hard top on my jeep a week and half ago. Not sure how the temperature would affect the bedliner application, so I'll be doing this in the spring.

Once you put your top on, please let us know if it helps with insulation/road noise, etc.

Very well done, looks great!
