Default A/C charge

I Have an 08 and the ac is just not as cool as it once was. I looked under the hood and it said that it held 1.25 lb now on the gage that came with the r134 It don't even start till 10 lb. what's a guy to do? Any pointers

1.25 is prob the volume of 134 that this system should hold to much is as bad as not enough only way to get it right is to evac the system and pull a vacuum and put back the right amount

Do you have a leak? A/c units don't use up Refigerant, If it is ever low then you have a leak.....There's a couple write ups here that show you have to use a Resistor to change the temp sensor etc under dash to have compressor run longer...good luck
