Default Carpet be gone

I have been thinking about pulling my carpet and rhino lining the inside.
Are there any wires or anything under the carpet that I would have to deal with. Any tips greatly appreciated.

personally, that thread was the motivation for me removing the carpet.... that and my right rear wheel well carpet flying out at 55 mph!

there are a few wire looms to deal with, i just did my best to "paint" around all of them. i even left my seats in when i did mine, i was extra careful.

overall, well worth the effort, no worrying about being left out in the rain or mud
go for it!!!

p.s. post some pics if you do

I removed the carpet and in doing so removed the seats which made it very easy just to coat the metal with the herculiner. There are some wires however they are bundled and you really can just paint around them. I highly recommend it! I just put some rubber mats down and it is no big deal at all! Have fun and wear gloves!

Funny that you mention that because just today I got that heat on my leg feeling and couldn't figure out where the hell it was coming from. Well, I got caught in a rain storm last night and had the plugs out. So, I'm flying down the road with the heat up my leg checking my temp and my fan knobs... then I realized it was coming from the plug.

So, yeah, without the plugs you'll see a little more heat. Other than that, you don't notice it much. I've got the Mopar Jeep Tread slush mats in mine; you can see pics in my gallery. But, its the best thing I've ever done. With how dirty my floor is right now, I can only imagine what the carpet would look like. That said, I'll probably put the carpet back in for the winter for added insulation.

You can put carpet back in, but you probably will not want to. Line x'n has been best mod so far.

This is a great mod, IMO, because if you're doing it yourself you can do it in stages.

Eg., I wasn't able to do it all (daily driver and all) so I did a test run with the rear gate and storage cubby. Next up: Rear tub, maybe remove rear seats.

Might not match perfect, but close is good enough.

Default Question.

When you guys remove the carpet, what do you do to the 'trunk' cover. Just let it remain carpeted? I was going to take my out tomorrow, but wondered what others did to that piece.
