Cheap console upgrade
 

Hey guys this is my first post and hope you like my first low buck mod. I was annoyed by the scratches my console was getting from cell phone, keys,and spare change.The plastic in these things is super soft! I have the non armrest type and dont have a lot of storage. I had a floormat from another truck that I didnt need so I trimmed up some pieces to fit. Took about 20 minutes and didnt cost a dime. I am gonna use two sided tape to adhere the pieces down for now. I think later on Im gonna try to find some thin rubber diamond plate look material to match the sills and door and then use spray adhesive to make it a little more permanent. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...h_PICT0520.jpg

Thanks Falcon. I dont know if its new or old design. I checked the jeep website and there is no mention of a centr console with or without the arm rest. Im assuming there is the ones you guys have and the one i have.:dontknow2: I kinda like it though.

I have an 07 6 speed 2dr and that is NOT the console I have..I wish it was because my drink holders are in a screwy place behind the shifter..hard to shift around the beer bottle..:eek2:

LOL I used thin cardboard to get the shapes correct first. Sounds like we both have the same skills, I think if I hadnt I might have needed a rubber bedliner from an 8' dually!:rotflmao2: Strange tho we all have seen different consoles,I would think it would be cheaper and easier just to make one style?:dontknow: it has worked out well tho,no phone or anything sliding around on the smooth plastic scratching it to hell.
