I did a few mods i found through this forum... grill - flat black. Wheels - flat black. Front bumper chop. Started to do the front discos but rubbed sway bar when i bungee it up....so i completely removed the sway bar.... any thoughts? Will be doing fenders and rear bumper chop and interior of hard top black soon. Thanx to all on this forum that have posted detailed info on how to perform these mods. 08 JKU

so no sway bar at all? not sure if thats safe....

You will flip it on a quick sharp turn or an emergency maneuver without the sway-bar.

I have had no front or rear sway bars on my lifted truck for years with no issues and the jku drives pretty good with the front sway bar gone. Its not a race car.... its a jeep that i off road at least 2x a week or more. Plus the off road ability is so much greater now. Idk about the rest of you but I didnt buy my jeep to look good and drive fast on the road.

That's really not a good idea. Spend a few bucks on some quick disconnects. It doesn't take much speed to make that thing rollover.

off road is fine, but on streets going home is kinda unsafe. not thinking about you so much, but other people who drive in your city streets. your mind is made up and think its safe. just saying..

I think this is key; in an emergency situation you most likely will lose control of the Jeep and cause a wreck - possibly worse than what might have occurred. I can pretty much guarantee that you'd be getting some blame/fault when it's discovered you removed (or disconnected) the sway bar. If you got my family involved in an accident because of it, you can be sure I'll be royally pissed! I know it's your Jeep, and you can do what you want, but just because you can doesn't necessarily mean you should.

Well yall seem to complain alot but have yet to help me with a fix with rubbing the sway bar when its on but disconnected. Maybe then i can re-install it with discos. Ever think of that? Or everytime i go wheeling yall can team up and come over to remove then re-install my swaybar.

Raisinhead said to get quick disconnects. Everyone that has replied so far, very kindly told you that not running a sway bar was unsafe, not only to you but to other drivers on the road if you cause an accident. But now your just being a dick.

This forum isn't designed to give you a plethora of free mechanics. That's not the right attitude to get help. No need to get defensive, just trying to give you information. There are several threads on safe ways to disconnect. Personally, I'm waiting to get discos till I can afford a new aftermarket ds.
