Default Cleaning behind the throttle body

I have read the post on cleaning the TB. I followed those instructions to the T. But when I had the TB off I took a peak inside the opening of the manifold and saw the same build up inside. Is there a way to clean out the manifold since I already have the TB off? If so what is the easiest and best way to do this?

I am one weekend from doing this and this is a good question. Can you get in there with a small cleaning brush?

I used a shop rag - the kind that doesn't fall apart and leave crap behind. I just stuck my fingers in there with the rag wrapped around it along with the TB cleaner sprayed on it.

I have heard of people using seafoam in the air intake in other cars. They just unplug the air temperature sensor just before the throttle body and stick a 5/8 in tube in it and siphon the seafoam through the hose in small amounts and into the intake while the car is running. Then they let it sit for about 5 minutes and then run the engine again. Is this good to do on the 2007 JK or any JK for that mater?

I cleaned mine today, and wow! That crap was thick! My Jeep was running fine, so I looked at it as preventative maintenance, along with a spark plug and wire change. I did the PCV valve yesterday, too. I'm at 58k miles, so it was probably a good time to do it.

I'm going to go back and do all this stuff again, with the exception of plugs/wires, after the next 40k miles. The mass airflow sensor looked clean, so I left it alone. I can only imagine what it must look like inside, well behind the throttle body.

Maybe that is the way to get rid of the crap that must be further inside. Let us know how it goes, if you do this.
