I left mine pretty thick so i had to really wedge them in there, so far they stay wherever i place them, takes a bit of effort to swing them in the mounting tabs, so yes, so far it has stopped all noise, but i imagine after some time they will wear a bit and allow movement.

I had thought about using that Plasti-Kote stuff that they use to make new grips for pliers. It's available in blue and red. I had thought about putting a bunch of it(couple cans) in a pail and dipping all four off my shackles in it. I may do this mod as well since I'm a plumber and have tons of those washers at may disposal.

But I'm curious to know if these stop all clanking.
As someone mentioned... leave the washers a little thick. I can point mine straight out and drive around with out them falling back down. The Rubber "BallCock Shank Washers" can easily be filed to any width size.

I picked up 8 of these at Lowe's yesterday. Of course, I wasn't really sure where to find it and the only person available to help me was a young female. The look on her face was priceless when I asked for help with getting a ballcock shank washer.

My wife also laughed hysterically for about 10 minutes when I told her what I was looking for.

I think I'm going to buy them strictly because of their name. I can't wait to tell people when they ask me.
