Death wobble
Hi everyone... I'm new to this forum but I have a question and hope I'm posting on the right forum. I have had "death wobble" at high speeds 2 different times and it's getting worse. I had my alignment checked and it's not the alignment... So what's left? I thought maybe steering stabilizer but I don't think that will cause death wobble alone, but I could be wrong! Any advice and direction would be awesome!

Have you checked the balance on your tires recently? This is one of the most common reasons DW will start. Also the track bars being tight should be checked. Hope this helps.

As others said check the track bar. Should be torqued to 125ft lbs at both ends

Steering damper is pretty common here for death wobble. Unbolt the bolt and the end of the ram. If you can move it easily by hand they will be your issue. At our dealer we've had a few with under inflated tires causing the wobble as well. Just a thought

Reading is fundamental:
https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-w...obbles-260145/ Heck, you don't even have to read. I made videos for people too lazy to read ;-) |
90% of the time it's the track bar bolts and or bushings. Try torquing first, if that doesn't work look for plan mans YouTube video. It is very frustrating not being able to drive your rig during the time it takes to diagnose the problem. If you need an immediate bandaid until you figure it out purchase the Fox ATS. This SS will stop a herd of elephants.

Things like improper steering geometry after a lift , axle not being centered under vehicle properly with adjustable track bar or bracketry after a lift install , tie rod ends , ball joints , bad toe in / toe out adjustment |
