Death Wobble

Recently when I've been driving on the highway going roughly 55-65 mph and start to brake at a certain rate, I get a very ferocious death wobble and have to come to a complete stop for it to go away. Have never had this problem until about a month ago. I have a stock 2008 4 door Rubicon, wheels were balanced about 9000 miles ago.

Did you read through Planmans DW Thread ?

Have you checked your alignment it could have a big effect that people don't consider ?

Had the exact same thing on my 08 JKUR. I checked and rechecked the torque on all the bolts, upgraded to the Grade 8 bolts, followed Planmans thread. Believe it or not, finally fixed it by having the front brake rotors turned.

I had the same issue with my 2008 Sahara and had to replace the front rotors. They apparently became warped, maybe during a rain storm and heavy braking.

I had also realized that my front ball joints needed replacing along with the stabilizer. It was an expensive mission. Long story death wobble was the rotors.
