I am very electrically and mechanically inclined (can build/wire a lot with little info). It was also very easy for me to put together. I can answer any questions you have when you build it (if you include pictures it will be 100X easier). It is up to you if you want to attempt it. I also used an old Stanley hand drill, not an electric one. As far as dealerships go, they might have the same reaction to either unit.

It is not installed yet, but when I get the chance it'll go next to the battery, towards the front, and laying on its long side.
