Heat Reduction - A/C Efficiency
Just in case of error, I will double check with the calibrated alcohol thermometer.
edit to add:
I took a few minutes to check it out while the tractor was warming up.
The lowest reading today was 38 degrees with both the alcohol thermometer and the IR thermometer.
Maybe on a drier day it will go lower. It makes sense it would not want to go lower than freezing if the humidity is high.
Anyway, I'll try it again on another day.
In another thread I mentioned the A/C in my Dakota and VW Golf would freeze a can of soda. It actually did happen going down the interstate. Not frozen solid, but there was slush in the can, which was sitting directly in front of the vent.

I don't think that armoflex on your lines is going help at least not as much as window tint or insulating top in someway. I do know that you may have created a fire hazard in that that product is not made for the heat from exhaust. I know your not touching it, but I wouldn't do that just incase it would catch fire.
BTW, I am in the a/c business, but for homes & not cars.

it's not just outlet temperature you need to be measure it's the Delta between input air temp and output. Typical home systems will have around 20-30deg f difference. If you have 40 degree air coming in, it would be cooler coming out. humidity also plays a big role. Insulation would have an effect how much I wouldn't know off hand. However you should be able to get some heat shielding cloth to cover the foam. I had some I put over some oil lines running to an upgraded turbo kit that I put on a 1.8l VW motor. You also could buy a different oriface which would lower the temperature.
that is the right thing to cover a hose to shield from heat Roguebut one of those hoses runs really hot not from the engine but as a result of its function in the system and shoould not be insulated further than it is already some heat dissipation is intended and inhibiting it will only cause part of the system to run hotter and therefore be more prone to wear
do like we do on hot rods and insulate the headers (or exhaust manifolds) if you want to lower engine bay temp and also hotter gas exists the exhaust system faster and would lower your back pressure making for nominal gains in power
a vented hood works well also and will cool down your radiator and also your condensor
you would only practically achieve an improvement in cooling from more and or cooler air flow through the condensor
but really dude get darker window tint and a dark eyebrow on your windshield before all of this mess
I think this mod might have a little merit......BUT only done on the low side line. The high side line gets HOT and needs to dissipate heat away from the system. Insulating it helps to hold the heat in.
