Default Help!!

I recently undertook the Homebrew CAI mod, and followed it to the T. Everything fit great; however, after I fired the engine up, and laid on the accelerator a bit it seems sluggish and if I stay on the accelerator the most RPMs I can get out of it is about 2k. The engine then drops to about 1800 then will rev back up to 2k and then repeat the process without getting more than 2k. Can anyone give me any advice? Sooner the better. Thanks.

Did you reconnect the sensors?

Sure did. The temp sensor is connected and the breather goes straight to the CAI. Does it matter that the battery was still connected or not? Not sure what is going on...gonna take it for a spin and see what happens. Just checked it again and now I am getting about 35-40k of RPMs. Is there a learning curve to it? I am not the brightest crayon in the box when it comes to engine stuff. I thought I was smarter than the average bear but I guess not. If it matters the ambient temperature right now it roughly 45 degrees.
